God Given Friendship

The joy in your face is such a happy sight.
Please remember you are gonna be alright.

God gave me the greatest gift of friendship in you.
You truly are the best in all that you do.

Remember not to worry what other people think.
Life is too short to live on the brink.

Life is full of sorrows, worries and such.
Just remember this my friend, you are loved ever so much.

We all love you dearly and know you will succeed,
In each and every step and in every good deed.

God gave you a gift and as you carry it along,
Please remember his love in each and every song.

Your voice is so special and ever so dear,
One day I pray you will share it with all who are here.

To sing as an angel as you have ever so been blessed,
Is a gift to give others to lessen their stress.

The very gift you have is all your own,
God gave you this gift, now the seeds need to be sown.

So open your heart and your spirit to him,
Take a deep breath and let God in.

You don’t have time to fret over the past or tomorrow,
Or you will forever live in worry and sorrow.

Look to the moment of the here and now,
God will be with you and show you how.

I love you my friend, you are special and dear,
I know God is molding you each day of the year.

So hold your head high and let the pain go.
God will show you the way and this I know.

Cross your hands over each shoulder and while squeezing tight,
Remember this is God hugging you with all of His might.

God Within

Sitting here waiting on the morning light,
I can't sleep in the middle of the night.
Just around the corner is the break of day.
Open your heart when you kneel down to pray.

Listen closely and hear the birds sing.
Next thing you know a church bell rings.
Morning sun has broken through the clouds.
Hear the choir singing praises out loud.

The preacher opens his sermon in prayer.
Oh, how I'd pray that you would be there.
Close your eyes open your heart in prayer.
Remember to Thank God for always being there.

Maybe you don't see Him or hear Him when He talks.
But believe you me God speaks louder than He walks.
He's always there for you through thick and thin.
If you open your heart and let Him in.

He loves you more than you will ever know.
Open your heart and watch His blessings flow.
He takes care of all your needs as only He can.
He is so much greater than human man.

You'll find peace within when you let Him in.
A spiritual blessing is about to begin.
These words are not mine they are on loan you see.
God gave them to me to give to thee.

I pray you find what you are looking for deep inside.
God is with you always when in His word you abide.
Thank Him for your future and your past.
Thoughts of doubt and fear will never last.

When you believe in God, Satan has no power.
So don't sell your soul except to God this hour.
If you try to fool others you only fool yourself.
Don't play with God's love and put it on a shelf.

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian.
Hold God in your heart, give Him all your attention.
So many people today believe they aren't worthy.
When God's in your heart it is filled with His glory.

Your body is your temple, don't ever forget.
God is within and waiting for you to find Him yet.
He is with you everywhere you go.
He is waching over you as you grow.

Open your heart and let God in.
It's time to let Him wash away your sin.
He will never give you burdens you can't bear.
For today and always His love He will share.

Imagine

Imagine a life without someone greater to believe in.

Imagine living for the here and now and a life without the hereafter.
Imagine living life without true friends, love and laughter.

Imagine living life without the story of Jesus Christ.
Imagine a life without His sacrifice.

Imagine there were no God, no faith, hope, love and charity.
Imagine for a moment there was no you or me.

Imagine that His love was not free.
Imagine that without Him we would never be.

Imagine that He kept this earth all to Himself.
Imagine that He put His love for us up on a shelf.

Imagine all the things He created just for you and me.
Imagine the scientists saying it couldnt' be.

Imagine for a lifetime that He loved you ever so true.
Imagine all the pain we have put Him through.

Imagine the forgiveness of our sins.
Imagine for a moment He is your greatest friend.

When Life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

We all here it from time to time and it has a totally different meaning for each of us.

Today might be your lemonade day. So what do you do when someone you love honestly thinks that they are helping you and do not even realize that their words cut so deeply you are bleeding to death inside. They do not realize that what works for them in their life would never work for you. You are totally different people and God made it that way because life would not be worth living if we all were exactly who other people thought we should be.

Why are we so judgmental of others, what purpose does it serve? Who really knows the answer to that question. Whether you are an Atheist, Christian, or Agnostic, we have at some point or another judged others along our way in life. I am as guilty as the next person, and hate it when I find myself enthralled in this behavior with others.

It is not my place to judge and as a Christian I know that the Bible clearly states in Matthew 7:1-5 "Judge not, that ye be not judged."

So then why do we do it. I have different views on why we judge, but I believe part of it is human nature and part of it is plain ignorance. I am sure there are many other reasons unbeknownst to each of us as to why we are so quick to judge others.

Let's start with a common occurrence in society today. While making a quick trip to town we run across a number of drivers whom we feel should probably not be driving for one reason or the other. Is it because they pulled out in front of us, stopped short in front of us, didn't use their turn signal, went to slow, or are in our way because of we didn't leave home early enough to allow for traffic to get to our destination.

So we judge the other drivers using words, actions, thoughts in our mind and sometimes through unsafe movements because they wouldn't get out of the passing lane. Speaking of the passing lane, isn't that what judging does, it causes us to Pass judgement on someone we don't even know most of the time.

So let's look at it from a different perspective next time we feel the need to judge others, which I am as guilty of as the next person. Let's think about what may be going on in their life. They might be short and rude because they are dealing with a lot of anxiety in their life which we can't be privy to. Or, maybe they just lost a loved one and are dealing with a situation they honestly never had to think about before that moment. Maybe they are driving slow because they don't have anyone in their life to help them run errands and they know they shouldn't be driving but have no choice since they need to eat and get to their Dr.'s appointments.

Maybe just maybe we can realize that at many different times in our life we were the one someone else was judging. What have we done that would cause others to give up their precious time to judge us and make us the topic of conversation. Well we all will have different answers for that and it takes a lot of discipline to avoid judging others altogether so in the meantime just try to put yourself in their shoes.

Instead of judging others lets reach out to them and be the bigger person. They have their own struggles and sometimes just need an encouraging word. So if you find yourself in a place of judgement remember no matter how difficult it is best if we follow God's instructions.

Matthew 7:1-5 Judge not, that ye be not judged."

I Saw Jesus Tonight

I saw Jesus tonight walking down the street.
He was cold, tired and hungry with worn out shoes upon His feet.
He wasn't holding up a sign that said He'd work to eat.
He was my next door neighbor living on my street.

He always was a working man, working 24 hour days.
He loved his wife, family and neighbors and showed respect in every way.
He knelt on his knees each night and to God He'd pray.
If you listened closely you could hear Him say,

"I saw Jesus tonight as He walked into the room.
His face was filled with fear and fright and starting to turn blue.
Dear Lord let me be a blessing and teach him of You.
As good as You've been to me it's the least that I can do."
I saw Jesus tonight ungroomed and tired.
They promised Him a great career, years ago when He was hired.
Now 20 years later He's been laid off and fired.
You see He had no savings, He was planning to retire.

His wife and kids left Him 'cause He couldn't make ends meet.
Now He's living under a bridge or the alley of your street.
He's not looking for a hand out, He doesn't want your food to eat.
You see He's learned to make Five Dollars last a week.

I saw Jesus tonight, He wasn't in a Rescue Mission.
He was praying on your Churh steps for Divine Intervention.
As he knelt on His knees tonight you could hear Him pray,
"God I need a Rescue Mission, a helping hand along the way.
I remember when the Churches would help others back in the day.
Now they turn their backs and their members say,
"Don't build a Rescue Mission, it'll drive business away.
Build it somewhere else but not here, not today."
Just then I saw Jesus raise His hands to the sky as He proclaimed
"Except for the grace of God, there go I"
He finished His prayers unselfishly,
Asking God to bless both you and me.
So we would never have to live like He did today.
And if you listened closely you could hear Him pray.

"Dear Lord our God please bless them along their way.
They know not what they do and know not what they say.
I would never wish anyone to live as I do today.
So, Dear Lord our God, please bless them along their way."

Dear God

Oh Dear God, I come to you in the middle of the night,
I know with You it will be alright.
So why do I cry in this body of man?
When I know that it's all in Your hands.

I want so badly to be free.
Free from the pains that have a hold on me.
My faith is strong but I am weak.
My flesh and blood are worn and meak.

I praise You Lord for all You do.
There's no greater Love than Yours, I know it's true.
I put my life in Your hands time and time and time again.
You are my Savior. You are my friend.

I have no room to complain.
You know my heart and You know my pain.
So I pray dear God that You will see,
A way to lessen my fears and pain and take them from me.

I am not worthy of what I ask,
Yet I come to you Lord for help in this task.
Jesus suffered for my every sin.
For only through Your grace and mercy can I be whole again.

I hold dear those I love most,
The Fahter, Son and the Holy Ghost.
For it is You I aim to serve.
Help me Lord to meditate on Your word.

Oh Dear God, I find comfort in You and You alone.
For in Your love I have grown.
Never could there be any greater than You.
Time and time again You have proven this true.

So I Thank You God for all You do.
For taking care of me when You didn't have to.
I am not worthy of Your mercy and grace.
So I ask You God to keep me in my place.

Heaven Sent

You were heaven sent from God above,
He opened our hearts and filled them with your love.

Your smile, your laughter, your hugs and your touch,
Will all be missed, ever so much.

Words can't describe how tattered and torn,
We feel each time we think of you and mourn.

With the wind in your hair and the sun on your face,
We know God's made you a very special place.

The moments we've shared so specail and dear,
We'll hold them in our hearts, ever so near.

God give us the strength to uplift you this day,
So you're once again heaven sent, and along your way.

Precious memories of the times we've had.
Our greatest honor was being your Mom and Dad.

Fog On The Mountain

Sirens blaring in the middle of the night.
Dogs are howling it just doesn't feel right.
I can feel an eerie chill in the mountain air,
Sitting on the back porch rocking in my chair.

My life changed instantly, when I heard the phone ring.
I feared to pick it up, for the news that it may bring.
Missing you tomorrow more than the day before.
Following the path life takes and giving a little more.

There was fog on the mountain you could cut it with a knife.
You've been on the road so long, I prayed you'd be alright.
Fog on the mountain, rain pouring down.
I could see the lightning strike for miles around.

Life will never be the same wihtout you by my side.
The son we share together fills my heart with pride.
Each time he speaks it reminds me of you.
Always knowing what to say and especially what to do.

The fog on the mountain now is gone,
But in my memory you live forever on.
I know that soon I will hold your hand,
As we walk together upon the Golden Strand.

There was fog on the mountain you could cut it with a knife.
You've been on the road so long, I prayed you'd be alright.
Fog on the mountain, rain pouring down.
I could see the lightning strike for miles around.

Grandparents

We didn't move the grass when I grew up.
Never ever had a single blade to cut.
We lived on a gravel road back in the woods.
We could misbehave but mostly we were good.

We never had leftovers on our plate.
We were thankful for the food and bread we ate.
We went fishing for Sunday dinner on Saturday night.
After Sunday dinner we always got to play outside.

Grandma was up at the crack of dawn and out the door.
To the hen houses for eggs and more.
Never ever did you hear her complain.
When it came to family she was as strong as they came.

Granddaddy worked tobacco as the sunrose all the day long.
It paid the bills as time moved on.
While he took care of business day to day.
Taking care of his family was his priority I'd say.

Grandma and Granddaddy they had backbone.
Never once in their life did they take out a loan.
They were old school peope would say.
But they were my Grandparenst and I like it that way.

Today

Today I was greeted by my husband,
With a good morning hug and kiss,
Today I was greeted by God,
With His sunshine and bliss.

Today I was held tight,
By my and only son.
Today he hugged me,
Like he did when he was young.

Today my best friend listened,
As I told her stories of you.
Today I cried and cried,
The day through and through.

Today was filled with tears,
From your love and your care.
Today you made me feel special,
In the words you did share.

Today I smiled and cried,
As I went about my day.
Today I can't find the words,
That my heart truly wants to say.

Today you touched my soul,
In ways I simply cannot explain.
Today each of you,
Took away a piece of my pain.

Today I was truly touched by an Angel,
And that Angel was you.
Today I can't Thank you enough,
For all you say and do.

Ode to Ormond Beach Hwy 1 Businesses

If you want to have some fun.
Take a ride down Hwy 1.
You can visit Iron Horse Saloon.
Bikers welcome, plenty of room.

Eat lunch at the Hog Pen.
You're sure to go there again.
When your bike quits and it's surely dead.
Get a quick and easy fix at Knuckleheads.

While Knuckleheads got your bike.
You can take a quick hike.
To Smiley's tap,
Where they'll give you a pat on the back.

At Hired Gun Airbrushing they'll lay down some paint.
Believe me you amateurs they ain't.
The Tattoo Tavern will serve you a drink.
All while you get some fresh new ink.

Don't forget dinner at Saddle Jacks Bar and Grill.
There you'll find one last thrill.

God Says

Saturday nights Sunday morn.
What a great time to be reborn.

Devils says you can have it today.
God says there's a price to pay.

Devil toys with our wants and desires.
God brings us out of the Devils raging fire.

Devil says don't listen to Him.
God says there's a price for your sin.

Saturday nights Sunday morn.
What a great time to be reborn.

Devil says I'll show you the way.
God says that's the price Christ already paid.

Devil says I'll be your friend.
God proves him wrong time and time again.

Devil says live life now or never.
God says you can live forever. Saturday nights Sunday morn.
What a great time to be reborn.

Devile says if you follow God He's a liar.
God says if you follow Satan you go into the fire.

Devil tempts and plays with your fate.
God opens up Heavens gate.

Saturday nights Sunday morn.
What a great time to be reborn.

Every Day

Every day is a day for giving thanks.
Every day can be filled with joy or angst.

You are free to live your day as you choose.
The decision is yours alone to win or lose.

Find thanks in all things big and small.
Remember the good Lord gives us them all.

Lay your worries at His feet and leave them there.
For in your pain Christ has already shared.

Hold your head high and look to the sky.
God is always there, never ask why.

Dear Heavenly Father

Set me free,
From the chains
Have a hold on me.

Dear Heavenly Father

I come to you,
And in your words
I find the truth.

Dear Heavenly Father

What have I done,
To deserve the Love
Of your Only Son?

Dear Heavenly Father

Jesus died for my sins,
Tell me why
I'm worthy of Him.

Dear Heavenly Father

Thy will be done,
On earth, as heaven
You're the only one.
